Samsung D372

The Samsung D372 is a low-end "budget" camcorder that records to 80 minute Mini DV tapes. It has a 34x optical, 100x digital zoom lens with a filter diameter of 27mm, focal length of 1.6-4.3mm, and a lens aperture of F/16.

The D372 features a "Easy Q" button for instant access to the included image stabilization mode to keep the source video from reflecting simple involuntary movements while recording. The D372 also features a "what you see IS what you get" 16:9 recording option to capture the entire image you want, that way it will completely show up on an HDTV screen. It includes a .3" color LCD viewfinder and a 2.7" 4:3/16:9 LCD preview screen (16:9 image is compacted on preview screen for viewing, this does not affect the source video). For manual connections the D372 provides 1 IEEE 1394 (FireWire/i.LINK) that functions as both an input and output, 1 Composite video/audio output, and of course 1 DC power input. The device has comfortable ergonomics and a compact design to keep it from being too hefty and bulky; it weighs a mere 0.79 Lbs (12oz) and has external dimensions (WxHxD) of 2.13 in. x 3.43 in. x 4.76 in. It also includes built-in audio/video special effects such as Mosaic, Pastel, Black & White, Mirror, Sepia, Emboss, and Ball video overlays as well as an unwanted ambient sound removal tool, improvement of stereo separation, and both voice and music playback.
