Regardless, the 3D lens is basically attached to the unit’s Leica 12x optical zens, thereby enabling it to capture dual 960x1080 images at the same time—one for the left eye, and one for the right. The combined image can then be transmitted to a 3D HDTV. Unfortunately, shooting dual images causes a reduction in light sensitivity; plus the control ring can only be used to control white balance in real time.
