JVC GR-DA30US
$125.00
Released September, 2007
The Pros:Can be purchased typically for a price far below MSRP due to its age, already priced affordably. LCD is clear and easy to work with. Records in widescreen 16:9 format, doesn't stretch on a typical HDTV.
The Cons:Big and bulky design, hard to stuff into a purse and can't fit it into most jacket pockets. Picture quality never gets very sharp, noticeable amount of noise in any lighting. Doesn't come with a case or with the necessary firewire cable for transferring videos.
The GR-DA30US is the base model in JVC's line of MiniDV camcorders. The fairly low-end, inexpensive DA30 uses a single CCF sensor to capture video and stills in a resolution of up to 680K. Its 30x optical zoom is one of its main selling points.
