  It includes Canon's DIGIC DV II image processor for enhanced image quality and reduced pixel noise and records directly to miniDV cassettes.  The VIXIA HV40 utilizes a 10x HD video lens to create professional-grade zoom shots and is designed with a 2.7" multi-angle widescreen LCD display.  It includes Canon's SuperRange optical image stabilization and instant autofocus technology and has an HDMI output for viewing HD footage on a TV.  The camcorder comes with a wireless remote and is expected to be released in March 2009.
