Like it's cheaper Canon DC310 sibling, it has a 41x zoom, a Canon Digic DV II image processor (an advanced processor initially manufactured for the Canon HD cameras, produces notable noise reduction and high image quality).

Its CCD sensor, however is superior with a 1.07 mega pixel CCD (vs 680K pixels). That also means that its digital stills are of higher quality as well. It's LCD display is also a 2.7" 16:9 format. Unlike the DC310, users didn't give this one particularly good reviews, many customers weren't happy with the image quality, and said that the miniDV counterpart was better.
